For the second time, we at Flexpack have been awarded by CONAI for the corporate sustainability of our packaging. In November 2022, CONAI (National Packaging Consortium) announced the winners of Ecopack 2022, the award given to companies committed to making their packaging more sustainable through innovation initiatives.
With a simplified LCA analysis, CONAI showed that the impact of the projects carried out by the participating companies led to a reduction in water consumption by 11%, energy consumption by 22%, and carbon dioxide emissions by 29%.
What is the CONAI Call for Ecodesign of Packaging in the Circular Economy
For years, CONAI has played a key role in the promotion of environmental sustainability through prevention. The Call initiative actively supports companies in adopting sustainable practices and spreading an ecological culture.
Since 2013, the call for the prevention and enhancement of environmental sustainability in packaging has been one of the tools used to reward and promote eco-sustainable solutions in the packaging sector. This initiative covers all stages of the packaging life cycle and recognizes innovations that benefit the environment, as specified in the participation guidelines.
From the verification activities carried out by CONAI for participating companies, it emerged that the call represents an effective tool to promote a culture of environmental sustainability and to highlight the efforts in designing, ecodesigning, and producing low environmental impact packaging.
