What is meant by industrial packaging

Before going into the specifics of high-quality packaging for the industrial sector, it is important to clarify what industrial packaging means. It refers to the packaging of industrial products with the purpose of protecting them during transport, moving them, and storing them.

When speaking of industrial packaging in general, three types of packaging can be distinguished:

  • primary packaging, which refers to the packaging that encloses and protects the product ready for consumption, serving as product identification for the end consumer;
  • secondary packaging, which aims to enclose multiple individual products and allows goods to be stacked;
  • tertiary packaging, designed to facilitate the movement of multiple units of products and to protect them during transport and storage.

Another distinction can be made between industrial packaging and consumer packaging. For example, when a product is sold in smaller packaging for individual consumers or in larger containers for industrial use.

  • the shrink packaging, which acts as a barrier against weather conditions, is easily moldable to the shape of the packaged object, and is ideal for protecting boats;
  • the containment nets, which can be shaped around objects of any form and ensure the protection of shrink-wrapped packages;
  • the polyethylene film, ideal for transporting delicate materials or for shipments under adverse conditions;

Industrial packaging: why it must be high quality

Packaging, especially industrial packaging, must be of excellent quality because it determines the protection of goods and ensures they remain in good condition.

As a company specialized in the production of high-quality industrial packaging, we can affirm that the safety of our clients’ products depends on the quality of our packaging.

Why must industrial packaging be of high quality? For the purposes it is designed for:

  • to house and keep a product safe during transport to other locations, possibly under extreme external conditions;
  • to maintain the content unchanged;
  • to protect goods from external agents.

It is essential to choose industrial packaging that is suitable for the product, the conditions it will face, and that is of good quality.
